FAQ
Do you work alone?
The answer is that it depends on the assignment. I do virtually all my writing myself but have a select and highly talented group of collaborators I can call on for assistance with visual concepts or specialty projects. These people, when required, would be sub-contracted on your behalf and only with your approval.
How do we get started?
A call or email will get the process moving. I prefer a phone call or Zoom to start so that we can answer one another’s questions in real time. If you need one last nudge after reviewing my background and samples, I am happy to do a small starter project so you can see what I can do for you.
How do we interact?
I prefer to have someone in your organization designated as primary contact. This individual should have either approval authority or direct access to someone who does. I can, of course, work with small groups if that better meets your needs. I will also work with another outside resource of yours (e.g. an advertising or PR agency) as long as someone in your company is overseeing the collaboration.
How much does it cost to hire you?
I have found it unproductive to discuss fees outside the context of specific assignments. It is quite unlikely that I would be your lowest cost source, but I believe my fees are always fair given the experience I bring to your needs. I am willing to work either on a day rate or for a fixed price for a given project. We can discuss which is better for you when we see what the project involves and the reporting structure for its completion.
How long do you need to complete your work?
Again, it depends on the scope of the project but I believe, once the prep work is completed, that you will be happily surprised at how quickly you have a draft in hand. When my writing begins to flow, it really does flow.
Do I get to make changes?
Of course. Anything submitted to you should be viewed as a draft. The project is not over until you are happy with the finished work.
